You no longer need to search for tower enclosures that fit to your Centurion, Gladiator, or Tige boat tower. The KingPin Tower Speaker enclosures you have chosen include a mount that is our own design. Years of installing marine audio and a yearning for simplicity without having to spend a ridiculous amount of money for the "special" adapters inspired these affordable and durable connectors.
The specific mounts designed by the owner himself were made to fit directly and easily to Centurion, Gladiator, or Tige towers. They are created with the DIY installer in mind without adding a hefty special price to them. Convenience does not have to mean more expensive. There may not be a cool logo on the mounts but who needs that? They do their job by allowing you to do yours with ease and little head scratching or bank breaking.
This KingPin package is for a pair of black powder-coated aluminum cans built for 7.7" speakers. These "bullet" style cans are sturdy, durable, scratch resistant, water resistant, and weather resistant. They can stay on your boat year-round without any concern for their appearance or durability.
The KingPin package you have selected will also include JL Audio's 7.7" marine speakers. They are the M770-CCX-SG-TB and they prove that even a little more than an inch can make a big difference in sound. The JL Audio 6.5" marine speakers are an excellent choice but if your budget and space can fit a little more, then by all means get a big difference for a little more. It shouldn't be enough just to hear the music 60ft behind the boat but to understand and enjoy the music. Get concert like sound with this powerful and beautifully designed system.
M-Series 7.7-inch Marine Cockpit Coaxial System for Infinite-Baffle Use (100 W, 4 Ω) - Titanium Sport Grille
Purpose-engineered and built for real marine duty, M-Series coaxial systems deliver maximum audio performance in any open-air boating environment.
The oversized 7.7-inch design of the M770-CCX coaxial results in increased efficiency (more output for a given amount of power). Combine that advantage with long excursion and excellent power handling and you have a speaker system truly capable of playing loud and clear in a powerboat at speed. The woofer element is optimized to operate with a large volume of air behind it (at least 2 cu. ft. / 57 l). Operating this coaxial system in less space will compromise its low frequency performance. If you need a 7.7-inch coaxial system that operates in a small sealed enclosure, select our M770-TCX, instead.
A 1-inch pure silk dome tweeter, specially treated to withstand the marine environment, handles the high-frequency duties. Silk has been chosen for its lightness, excellent damping properties and smooth response characteristics. You will appreciate the clean, articulate high-frequency response of the M-Series dome tweeter, especially at higher volume levels.
A true 2-way passive crossover network is sealed in a protective capsule and mounted to the woofer's frame so that it does not require additional mounting provisions.
Although M770-CCX Coaxial Systems can be used with as little as 40 W per channel, for best audio performance we recommend amplifiers capable of between 75-150 W of continuous power per channel.
