Easy Fit and Install for Malibu and Chaparral Style towers
You no longer need to search for tower enclosures that fit your Malibu and Chaparral style boat tower. The KingPin Tower Speaker enclosures you have chosen include a mount that is our own design. Years of installing marine audio and a yearning for simplicity without having to spend a ridiculous amount of money for the "special" adapters inspired these affordable and durable connectors.
The specific mounts designed by the owner himself were made to fit directly and easily to most Malibu and Chaparral style towers. They are created with the DIY installer in mind without adding a hefty special price to them. Convenience does not have to mean more expensive. There may not be a cool logo on the mounts but who needs that? They do their job by allowing you to do yours with ease and little head scratching or bank breaking.
This KingPin package is for a pair of black powder-coated aluminum cans built for 7.7" speakers. These "bullet" style cans are sturdy, durable, scratch resistant, water resistant, and weather resistant. They can stay on your boat year-round without any concern for their appearance or durability.
The KingPin package you have selected will also include JL Audio's best sounding 7.7" marine speakers. They are the M770-CCX-SG-TB and what makes these special is extra power handling without sacrificing any clarity and beautiful sound from your audio system. It shouldn't be enough just to hear the music 60ft behind the boat but to understand and enjoy the music. Get concert like sound with this powerful and beautifully designed system.
Marine Tested: JL Audio's marine speakers go through ultraviolet testing chambers (to simulate years of sun exposure) and salt fog chambers (to simulate years of exposure to salt-water environments.
Woofers: The JL Audio M770-CCX-CG-TB features 7.7-inch diameter woofers that provides 20% more sound radiating area than typical 6.5-inch designs. The JL Audio Marine Cockpit woofers features an injection-molded, mica-filled polypropylene cone woofer with UV inhibitors, a rubber surround and a precisely engineered dust cap profile for smooth upper-end response. The woofer uses a marine-grade synthetic fiber spider with a progressive roll design and a vented motor structure with a marine grade stainless steel rear diffuser plate.
DMA (Dynamic Motor Analysis): DMA is JL Audio's proprietary method aimed at improving dynamic motor behavior. The DMA-optimized long-excursion design enhances output, bass extension and power handling of the speaker.
Tweeters: The Marine Cockpit Coaxial speaker features a 1" treated silk dome tweeter with a specially formulated treatment to withstand UV and salt-spray exposure. The dome tweeter uses an oversized neodymium magnet for higher efficiency levels and is Ferrofluid-cooled and damped for improved response and power handling capabilities.
Crossover: The JL audio marine speakers utilize a true 2-way crossover network with 1st order low-pass and 2nd order high-pass circuits. The crossover network also features a polyswitch solid-state tweeter protection which prevents tweeter failures due to abuse and resets automatically. The crossover mounts directly to the polymer woofer basket, requiring no additional mounting provision.
Polymer Basket And Grille: The Centrex, UV-resistant polymer basket and grille protects the speaker's woofer, tweeter, crossover and motor structure from the marine environment.
Infinite-Baffle Operation: The JL Audio M770-CCX-SG-TB is optimized for infinite-baffle operation so that it can be installed in a variety of locations, without the need for a dedicated enclosure.

Speakers are great, make sure you pay for the M770s to get clear audio.
These should ship with the speaker wire crimp ends so you can save a trip to the store to buy some though!
Unfortunately the speaker can's pre-drilled holes are narrower than Malibu's tower mounts, so had to drill the all the holes wider to get alignment. Not difficult, just takes time.
